Albemarle Map Poster & Print
Albemarle is the county seat of Stanly County, North Carolina, in the Piedmont east of Charlotte. Its downtown is a compact grid around the courthouse, and from above the older streets form a clear, tight centre with residential neighbourhoods spreading into rolling countryside on all sides.
East of town the ground rises into the Uwharrie Mountains, among the oldest ranges in North America and now worn down to low, wooded hills. Here the Yadkin and Pee Dee rivers have been dammed into long reservoirs, including Lake Tillery, and Morrow Mountain State Park sits on the hills above the water.
An Albemarle map poster that includes this eastern side shows a striking contrast: the regular town streets giving way to winding lake shorelines and forested ridges. It is a map with both a clear urban shape and a strong natural edge.

Uwharrie hills
East of town, low forested ridges of the ancient Uwharrie range break up the road network and create curving, contour-following routes.
Lake Tillery shoreline
The dammed Pee Dee River forms long lakes with irregular, fingered shorelines, adding intricate water shapes to the eastern edge of the frame.
