Alto Molócuè is a district town in the interior of Zambezia Province in central Mozambique. From above it is a small, open settlement: a main road through the centre, a handful of streets with shops, offices and a market, and residential areas made of paths and small plots spreading out around them.
The town lies in rolling country crossed by streams and rivers, with farmland, woodland and scattered homesteads all around. On the map, the road network is sparse and irregular, with tracks leading from the town into the surrounding villages. The built-up area has no sharp border, fading gradually into cultivated land.
