Andernach Map Poster & Print
Andernach lies on the left bank of the Rhine, where the valley widens between Koblenz and Bonn. On the map, the old town is clearly visible along the river: a compact core of narrow lanes, partly enclosed by the line of the medieval walls. From there, the newer districts spread west and north over flatter land, while the Rhine forms a wide, curved edge.
The town traces its origins to a Roman settlement, which makes it one of the oldest towns in Germany. It is also known for the Andernach Geyser on the Namedyer Werth peninsula, considered the highest cold-water geyser in the world. More recently, the town has become known as an edible city, where public green spaces are planted with vegetables and fruit.
An Andernach map poster makes the connection between the town and the river easy to see. The dense medieval centre, the river promenade and the long shape of the Namedy peninsula make a distinctive outline, while the Rhine's broad band gives the image weight. In black and white, the remains of the old city walls stay clearly visible.

Namedyer Werth peninsula
Downstream, a long, narrow peninsula reaches into the Rhine. It is home to the cold-water geyser and is one of the most recognisable shapes on the map.
Rhine riverfront
The wide river runs along the whole east side of the town, with the promenade and harbour areas following its gentle curve.
