Āsandh is a town in the Karnal district of Haryana, on the level farmland of the Indo-Gangetic plain in northern India. From above, the town is a dense, irregular core of lanes. Roads leading out toward neighbouring towns and villages pass through a countryside divided into regular fields and cut by irrigation channels.
The surrounding area is intensively farmed, and the town serves as a local market and administrative centre for the villages around it. Its layout reflects that role, with a compact older centre and newer building spreading along the roads leading in.
