Badger is a census-designated community in the Fairbanks North Star Borough of interior Alaska, between Fairbanks and North Pole. It is not a town with a single centre. It is a broad stretch of homes on wooded lots, linked by long roads and bounded by the Chena and Tanana river country.
The map reflects life in the subarctic. Main roads run straight for miles, side roads branch off to clusters of houses, and large areas of forest, muskeg and ponds stay undeveloped. The Richardson Highway runs nearby, connecting the area to Fairbanks in one direction and North Pole in the other.
