Baldwin is a borough in Allegheny County, just south of Pittsburgh. Its landscape is typical of western Pennsylvania: steep hills, narrow hollows and ridgelines. From above, this produces a road pattern of curves, loops and short dead-end streets that follow the terrain instead of a grid. Wooded slopes separate one cluster of houses from the next.
Baldwin is mainly residential, a mid-century suburb that grew as Pittsburgh expanded beyond the city limits.
