Baraúna Map Poster & Print
Baraúna is a municipality in the west of Rio Grande do Norte, in the semi-arid interior of northeastern Brazil, not far from the border with Ceará and the larger city of Mossoró. The town sits on the flat limestone plateau known as the Chapada do Apodi. From above, it appears as a compact grid of streets surrounded by open, level land.
The surrounding area has become known for irrigated agriculture, particularly fruit farming, and on a map this shows as large, regularly shaped plots crossed by straight tracks. The contrast between the tidy fields and the scrubland of the caatinga beyond gives the landscape a distinctive patchwork. The town itself is laid out simply, with a central square and blocks spreading outward.
A Baraúna map poster is a study in flatness and order. There are no rivers or hills to disrupt the composition, so the geometry of the streets and farm plots takes centre stage. It suits the Sand style especially well, which echoes the warm tones of the dry plateau.

Farm plots
Large, rectangular fields and straight tracks extend around the town. They form a geometric patchwork across the level surface of the chapada.
Caatinga edges
Beyond the cultivated land, the dry scrub of the caatinga leaves wide, lightly marked areas that frame the composition with open space.
