Town centre
The main streets meet at the heart of town, forming a compact cluster that sits clearly in the middle of the poster and holds the picture together.

Belém Map Poster & Print
This Belém is a municipality in the state of Paraíba, in northeastern Brazil, not to be confused with the much larger city of Belém in Pará. It lies inland from the Atlantic coast, between the humid coastal strip and the drier interior. The town is small and compact, and its modest network of streets forms a clear centre on the map.
As in many towns of the Brazilian northeast, main streets extend outward from the centre and residential blocks fill the spaces between them. Past the last houses, roads and tracks lead to rural communities and neighbouring municipalities through a landscape of small farms and pasture. The drawing moves quickly from a dense centre to open land.
A Belém map poster of this Paraíba town makes a personal gift for people with family roots here, many of whom now live in João Pessoa, Campina Grande or further south. The coordinates line clearly separates it from its namesake in the Amazon. The simple black-and-white drawing gives a small place the dignity of a careful portrait.

Residential blocks
Short, regular blocks extend from the centre in several directions. They show how the town grew outward along its main roads over the decades.
Rural roads
Beyond the built-up area, thin lines of roads and tracks cross the surrounding farmland, linking Belém with the villages and towns of inland Paraíba.
