Bizen Map Poster & Print
Bizen lies in the east of Okayama Prefecture, running from wooded inland valleys down to a sheltered, deeply indented shoreline. Its settlements follow the narrow flat ground along rivers and bays, so on a map the city looks less like a single town and more like a chain of districts linked by roads and the JR Ako Line.
The name is known far beyond Japan for Bizen ware, an unglazed stoneware fired in wood kilns for many centuries, and the Imbe district is still full of working potteries. Nearby stands the Shizutani School, founded in the seventeenth century as a school open to commoners, whose lecture hall is designated a National Treasure.
Along the coast, Hinase faces a group of small islands and is known for oyster farming. A Bizen map poster brings these pieces together: the kiln town, the quiet valleys and the fragmented coastline, all drawn in the same fine linework so that the contrast between land and water carries the image.

Hinase coastline
The eastern shore breaks into coves, headlands and offshore islands, giving the lower part of the map an intricate outline against the open sea.
Inland valleys
North of the coast, narrow valleys push between forested hills, with roads and fields threading along their floors in thin, branching lines.

ለምን Bizen
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Collectors of Bizen ware, visitors who came for the autumn pottery festival and people with family ties to the area often want something that records the place itself rather than a single object. The map does that quietly, with coast and hills as its only ornament.
You can set your own title, subtitle and coordinates, for example a kiln name or the year of a visit, and pick one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Paper and Sand sit especially well beside ceramics.
