Bomlitz Map Poster & Print
Bomlitz lies in the Heidekreis district of Lower Saxony, on the western side of the Lüneburg Heath near the town of Walsrode. Its territory of around sixty-four square kilometres combines a built-up core with large areas of forest, farmland and open land. On a map the settlement appears as a mix of residential streets and the extensive, orderly footprint of industrial sites.
The village grew around industry. A gunpowder mill was established on the small river Bomlitz in the nineteenth century, and the business that became Wolff Walsrode later developed into a major producer of cellulose products and films. That history remains legible on the map, where large rectangular plots and internal roads sit beside the more irregular lanes of the older village.
In 2020 Bomlitz was merged into the town of Walsrode, though it keeps its own identity and outline. A Bomlitz map poster shows the settlement within its wider landscape: the thread of the river valley, the roads leading toward Walsrode and neighbouring villages, and the broad patches of woodland that give this part of the heath its character.

Bomlitz valley
The small river that shares the village's name runs through the area, and its narrow, winding course brings a natural line into an otherwise structured map.
Heath and forest
Wide areas of woodland and open land surround the settlement, typical of the Lüneburg Heath region, framing the village with soft, varied textures.
