Calumpang Map Poster & Print
Calumpang is a barangay of Marikina City in Metro Manila, on the western side of the Marikina River. From above it is a dense patchwork of residential streets and small blocks, with the river forming a clear boundary on one side. Across the water more neighbourhoods continue, and to the east the land rises toward the Sierra Madre foothills beyond the edge of the city.
Marikina is widely known as a centre of shoemaking in the Philippines, and the city has invested heavily in its riverbanks, with parks and walkways along much of the Marikina River. Calumpang shares in both of these identities as one of the older neighbourhoods close to the water.
A Calumpang map poster focuses on a small, lived-in part of the metropolis. The river's curve gives the composition a strong organic line, while the close grain of the streets fills the rest of the frame. It shows how home looks at neighbourhood scale within a very large city.

Riverbank parks
Open green space along the river breaks up the built-up area. On the map it forms a pale ribbon between the water and the streets.
Dense blocks
Residential streets form a tight, irregular pattern of small blocks. It is the textured heart of the poster and full of fine detail.
