Carigara is a municipality on the northern coast of Leyte in the Eastern Visayas, set on the shore of the bay that shares its name. From above, the town centre forms a modest grid close to the water, with the coastal highway running through it and the bay filling the northern part of the map.
Inland, the flat coastal plain gives way to rice fields, coconut groves and small barangays linked by country roads. Rivers and creeks wind down to the bay and interrupt the pattern of fields. Farther south, the land rises toward the hills of central Leyte.
