Catolé do Rocha Map Poster & Print
Catolé do Rocha lies in the sertão of Paraíba, in Brazil's semi-arid interior, near the border with Rio Grande do Norte. The town is the centre for a wide rural area. From above you see a fairly compact settlement: a grid of streets around the central square and church, with newer blocks spreading outward along the roads that link it to neighbouring municipalities.
The land around it is dry for much of the year. It is crossed by seasonal watercourses and scattered with small reservoirs, known locally as açudes, that hold water through the dry months. Those shapes break up the open countryside around the town. Within the town, streets are mostly straight and blocks are regular, typical of interior towns in northeastern Brazil.
A Catolé do Rocha map poster keeps things simple and legible. It shows an orderly core, the roads that radiate from it and the spare landscape of the sertão beyond. It makes a quiet, honest image of a place that means a great deal to the people who come from it, many of whom now live in Brazil's larger cities.

Radiating roads
Roads leave the town in several directions toward neighbouring municipalities. They pull the edges of the built-up area outward in thin fingers.
Sertão surroundings
Beyond the last blocks lies open semi-arid country with seasonal streams and small reservoirs. It gives the poster generous empty space.

ለምን Catolé do Rocha
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Many people from the sertão carry their hometown with them wherever they move. A map of Catolé do Rocha is a direct, understated way to keep it on the wall, as a gift for parents or a reminder of where a family began.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can be edited. The five styles are Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Sand gives the poster a warmth that suits the dry interior landscape.
