Cedar City Map Poster & Print
Cedar City lies in Iron County in southwestern Utah, where the flat Cedar Valley meets the steep western edge of the Markagunt Plateau. Interstate 15 runs along the western side of the town, and the streets follow the regular grid typical of Utah settlements, with wide blocks set out by compass direction. To the east, the terrain rises quickly into canyons and red rock hills.
The town is home to Southern Utah University and the Utah Shakespeare Festival, which won a Tony Award for regional theatre and draws visitors every summer. Cedar City also serves as a gateway to Cedar Breaks National Monument and the parks of southern Utah, including Zion, which is less than an hour's drive away.
A Cedar City map poster shows the moment where a planned grid meets the mountains. The streets are orderly and evenly spaced, the interstate adds a strong line to the west, and Coal Creek canyon cuts into the high country to the east. The contrast gives the map a strong sense of direction.

To the east, the street grid ends abruptly against the slopes of the plateau, where canyon roads wind into the higher country.
University and festival
Southern Utah University and the Shakespeare Festival grounds sit near the centre. They show as larger open areas among the regular residential blocks.
