Comb-like lanes
Narrow residential lanes run off the main roads in parallel lines, a typical pattern of Balinese housing growth that gives the print a dense, rhythmic texture.

Dalung Map Poster & Print
Dalung is a village area in the North Kuta district of Badung regency, on the southern side of Bali, just beyond the northern edge of Denpasar. Its location between the city and the coast around Canggu has made it one of the places where much of the island's recent housing growth has taken place, turning agricultural land into residential neighbourhoods.
The map shows this transition clearly. Lanes branch off a few main roads in narrow, closely spaced lines, often following the old boundaries of rice fields and subak irrigation channels, and they end abruptly where fields remain. The result is a fine, comb-like pattern of streets rather than a grid, with pockets of open green land still visible between the built-up blocks.
A Dalung map poster captures a place in the middle of change, and in a few years the same frame may look quite different. That gives it value as a record, especially for people who have made a home in the area, whether long-time residents or newcomers who moved to this part of Bali to work or settle.

Traces of the rice fields
Open patches between neighbourhoods and the lines of irrigation channels still show the agricultural landscape that preceded much of the current housing.
Between city and coast
Main roads link Dalung with Denpasar to the southeast and the coastal areas to the southwest, framing the district as a connector between the two.

Many people who live in Dalung arrived recently, and a map of the neighbourhood is a good way to mark the start of that chapter. For long-time residents it records the streets as they are now, before further change.
