Diffa Map Poster
Diffa is the capital of the region of the same name in the far southeast of Niger, close to the border with Nigeria and within the wider Lake Chad basin. From above, the town is a low, spread-out grid of sandy streets and walled compounds, with open Sahel country stretching away on every side.
The Komadugu Yobe river runs nearby along the border. In the wetter months its floodplain supports irrigated gardens, and the area is known for growing red peppers, an important crop for local farmers. The contrast between cultivated riverside land and dry plain is one of the defining features of the landscape.
A Diffa map poster is spare and geometric. The town's roads form a broad, open pattern, the main route passes through it, and the river's curving course adds an organic line to the south. It is a restrained composition and a meaningful record of a town that many people know only from the news.

Open street grid
Diffa's blocks are wide and loosely arranged, with sandy roads between walled compounds. From above the pattern looks airy and regular, well suited to minimalist styles.
Regional through-road
A main road runs through the town, linking it with the rest of southern Niger and towards Lake Chad. It stands out as the longest continuous line on the poster.

People who have worked, served or grown up in Diffa often have a strong connection to it that is hard to capture in a photo. An accurate map of the town and its river can hold that memory quietly and respectfully.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a name, a date or the years you spent there. The poster comes in five styles, Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand.
