Dimona Map Poster & Print
Dimona was founded in 1955 in the Negev desert as one of the development towns Israel built in its early decades to settle the south. Its plan reflects that origin. The neighbourhoods were built in distinct phases, each with its own street pattern, on a gently sloping plateau with open desert all around.
On the map, the town is a clear island of streets, with curving residential roads and cul-de-sacs. Larger roads link it to Beersheba, the route towards the Dead Sea and the region's industrial sites. Dimona is home to a community of African Hebrew Israelites, and its name is closely associated with the nearby nuclear research centre.
A Dimona map poster shows how a planned town sits in a wide, empty landscape. With no river or coast to frame it, the composition relies entirely on the shape of the neighbourhoods. Their curves and loops stand out clearly against the white space of the surrounding Negev desert.

Desert edge
The built-up area ends abruptly, with little transition, and the broad blank space on every side gives the poster a strong, clean outline.
Regional roads
A few main roads run out of town towards Beersheba and the Dead Sea. Their long, straight lines emphasise how isolated the town is.

ለምን Dimona
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Many families arrived in Dimona as immigrants in the 1950s and 1960s, and their children and grandchildren now live across Israel and abroad. A map of the town is a simple way to hold on to that shared starting point.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a year of arrival. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Buy it as $9 HD files or as a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
