Drancy Map Poster & Print
Drancy lies in Seine-Saint-Denis, a few kilometres north-east of Paris. From above, it is a tightly built suburb on flat land. Small houses on narrow plots fill much of the town, broken by larger housing estates, schools and sports grounds. Rail lines and main roads form strong boundaries, and nearby Le Bourget airport sits just to the north.
The town is known for one of the saddest chapters of French history. The Cité de la Muette, a modernist housing block, was used during the Second World War as an internment camp from which most Jews deported from France were sent to Auschwitz. A memorial and a museum across the road now mark the site.
A Drancy map poster shows a suburb of contrasts, with fine-grained streets of small houses next to the larger shapes of estates and public buildings. The rail lines draw clear, straight edges, and the Paris region continues in every direction. It is a detailed, honest portrait of a lived-in town.

Housing estates
Larger apartment blocks and estates appear as broader shapes among the smaller streets, including the site of the wartime camp, now a memorial.
Rail boundaries
Railway lines and yards cross the area in straight lines, marking the edges of neighbourhoods and linking the town to Paris.
