Dumont Map Poster & Print
Dumont is a small borough in Bergen County, northern New Jersey, within commuting range of Manhattan. It covers a modest area, and from above it is almost entirely residential: a close, regular grid of streets with houses on narrow lots, crossed by a few longer roads that carry traffic through the town and connect it with neighbouring boroughs.
The borough's density is what makes it distinctive on a map. Streets are short and closely spaced, with small parks and school grounds as the main open areas. A former railway right-of-way runs through the area, and the commercial strips along the main avenues are easy to pick out as slightly longer, straighter lines within the fine residential mesh.
A Dumont map poster shows a classic American suburban borough at its most legible: a neat grid, a handful of main roads and a clear boundary with the towns around it. It is a natural gift for someone who grew up here or has just bought a house on one of these streets.
