Arms of the Iton
The river breaks into several channels through the centre, and the lines of water between streets and gardens are the defining detail of the Évreux map.

Évreux Map Poster & Print
Évreux is the prefecture of the Eure department in Normandy and sits in the valley of the Iton. The river splits into several arms as it passes the centre, so on a map thin lines of water weave between streets, gardens and old walls. The historic core fills the valley floor, and newer districts climb onto the plateaux on either side.
The town dates back to Roman Gaul, when it was called Mediolanum Aulercorum, and a stretch of late Roman wall still runs beside the river. Notre-Dame cathedral rises above the centre, and a fifteenth-century clock tower stands nearby. A riverside walk follows the Iton past the ramparts, one of the town's most familiar routes.
An Évreux map poster shows a classic French valley town: a compact, irregular centre packed along the river, with roads climbing out of the valley and wider suburban patterns on the high ground. The divided Iton gives the poster a delicate, unusual detail at its centre.

Cathedral quarter
Notre-Dame and the streets around it form the heart of the old town, a tight, irregular cluster on the valley floor near the river.
Valley and plateau
Roads climb out of the Iton valley onto the plateaux, where the street pattern becomes more open and regular, giving the poster a clear sense of relief.

ለምን Évreux
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Évreux is a town people know well from daily life rather than postcards: a school, a riverside walk, a street above the valley. A poster of its river-threaded centre is an understated way to keep that Norman home in view.
Add a name, a date or a line in French to the title and subtitle, and adjust the coordinates. Five styles are available: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. It comes as a $9 HD download or as a printed poster with an optional frame.
