Fond Parisien is a town in the Ouest department of Haiti, east of Port-au-Prince, on the Cul-de-Sac plain near the Dominican border. It lies close to the southern shore of Lake Azuei, also known as Étang Saumâtre. This is Haiti's largest lake, and its water is brackish.
From above, the town is a loose group of streets and plots along the main road between the capital and the border crossing at Malpasse. The large lake lies to the north, and dry mountains rise to the south. On a map, the smooth shoreline and the long road make a very clear frame for a small settlement.
