Fruit Cove is a community in St. Johns County, Florida, south of Jacksonville on the east bank of the St. Johns River. The river is very wide at this point, and on a map it fills one side of the frame. Inland, the land is covered by residential subdivisions, each with its own loops, cul-de-sacs and small lakes.
The area developed rapidly as a suburban community, and its road pattern reflects that history. Rather than a grid, main roads carry traffic between neighbourhoods, while each subdivision has its own internal network of curving streets.
