Gajuwaka lies in the southwestern part of Greater Visakhapatnam, on the Andhra Pradesh coast of the Bay of Bengal. Once a separate municipality, it is now part of the city's municipal corporation, and the map shows why: dense residential streets merge with neighbouring localities without a clear break, while the national highway draws a firm line through the area toward the city centre.
