The Ems
The river winds through the flat countryside close to the town. Its gentle meanders are one of the few curved lines in an otherwise level landscape.

Harsewinkel Map Poster & Print
Harsewinkel lies in the Münsterland region of North Rhine-Westphalia, in the district of Gütersloh. The landscape is almost perfectly flat: open fields, scattered farmsteads and hedgerows, crossed by the upper course of the Ems. The town itself forms a compact centre with residential areas and a large industrial zone spreading out from it.
Harsewinkel is best known as the home of Claas, one of the world's leading manufacturers of combine harvesters and agricultural machinery. The factory grounds are a prominent feature on the map. The municipality also includes Marienfeld, a village that grew up around a medieval Cistercian abbey whose church still stands.
A Harsewinkel map poster shows a town that is closely tied to the farmland around it, in both industry and landscape. The river's meanders, the regular field boundaries and the spread-out roads make a calm, balanced composition. It suits people from the area, and anyone who works with the machines that come out of it.
