Hatonuevo Map Poster & Print
Hatonuevo is a municipality in the La Guajira department in northern Colombia, in the southern part of the region where the peninsula meets the interior. The land is dry and open, and the town is small and regular. Its streets form a grid of blocks around a central plaza, the classic layout of towns across Colombia.
The municipality is close to the Cerrejón coal mining area, one of the largest open-pit operations in Latin America, which has shaped the economy of this part of La Guajira. The region is also home to the Wayuu people, whose rancherías, small family settlements, are scattered across the countryside outside the towns.
A Hatonuevo map poster is a clear, graphic image: a compact block grid, roads leaving it towards neighbouring municipalities, and a wide field of open land all around. The simplicity suits the black-and-white style, and the small scale makes the grid easy to read even on a smaller print.

Regional roads
Roads lead out towards other towns in La Guajira. They extend from the grid in straight lines across the open plain.
Open dry land
Sparsely vegetated land surrounds the town. On the map it becomes broad white space, which emphasises how compact the settlement is.
