Insein Map Poster & Print
Insein is a township in the north of Yangon, lying between the city's older centre and its outer suburbs. On a map it forms a fairly compact area of long, mostly straight residential streets, crossed by a main north–south road and by the railway line that links Yangon with the rest of the country. Small lakes, ponds and green spaces break up the network in places.
The western edge of the township approaches the Hlaing River, and the street pattern loosens toward the water and the low ground along its banks. The railway, with its station and long-established workshops, cuts through the township and gives the map a firm straight line. Around it, the layout mixes older neighbourhoods with more recent housing.
Insein is widely known for its prison, one of the most recognisable institutions in Myanmar, and for its long role in the country's railway system. An Insein map poster takes a more personal view, setting those associations aside and showing the streets, rail lines and waterways that residents simply know as home.

Residential streets
Long parallel streets and smaller cross lanes cover much of the township, creating a steady rhythm on the poster that reflects its long history as a residential area.
Hlaing River edge
To the west, the streets thin out toward the Hlaing River and its low-lying banks, giving the map a natural boundary and a welcome sense of open space.
