Isakogorka is a district of Arkhangelsk, the historic port city on the Northern Dvina in the far north of European Russia. It lies on the left bank of the river, south of the main city centre, and is closely associated with the railway, with its station serving as an important junction for lines heading south.
On a map the district is shaped by tracks and rail yards, which run in long parallel lines through the settlement. Residential streets sit between them, often with wooden and low-rise housing, while forest, marsh and the wide river channels of the Dvina surround the built-up area.
