Irrigation lines
Canals and ditches run in straight lines across the valley floor. On the map they form thin, repeated strokes that organise the farmland around the town.

Jelilyüzi Map Poster & Print
Jelilyüzi lies in the Ili valley of northwestern Xinjiang, a little east of Yining. The valley is wide and fertile, fed by water from the Tian Shan ranges. On the map, the settlement sits within a patchwork of cultivated fields. Canals and straight rural roads divide the land into long rectangles, and rows of trees often line both sides.
The town itself is loosely built, with a main street, clusters of low houses and courtyards, and newer blocks near the centre. Its edges fade into farmland instead of stopping at a hard boundary. That gives the map a gentle gradient from denser streets to open, ruled fields, which suits a minimalist print.
A Jelilyüzi map poster is less about landmarks than about pattern. Irrigation lines, field boundaries and roads come together in a quiet geometry that reflects how the Ili valley has been farmed. For someone from the area, the layout will look familiar at once. For anyone else, it is a clear picture of a valley town at the western edge of China.

Field geometry
Long, rectangular fields surround the settlement on all sides. Their regular boundaries give the print an almost graphic texture beyond the last houses.
Main street
A central road runs through the built-up area and ties it to neighbouring towns in the valley. Most of the denser streets and courtyards are grouped along it.

People hang this map to remember a home in the Ili valley or a family who farmed there. The calm, ruled landscape makes a restful image, very different from the tight street grids of big cities.
