Juazeiro Map Poster & Print
Juazeiro lies on the south bank of the São Francisco River in northern Bahia, directly across from Petrolina in Pernambuco. A bridge links the two cities, and on the map the broad river divides one urban area between two states. The riverfront and older centre sit close to the water, while newer districts spread inland across flat, dry land.
The region is part of the semi-arid sertão, but irrigation from the São Francisco has turned it into one of Brazil's important fruit-growing areas, known for grapes and mangoes. From above, this shows clearly: the city is surrounded by rectangular irrigated plots, canals and farms that contrast with the dry land beyond. The river itself, with its islands, is the central feature.
A Juazeiro map poster captures the relationship between river, city and farmland. The wide São Francisco with its sandbanks and islands, the grid of streets near the waterfront and the patterns of irrigated fields make a composition with strong horizontal lines. In black and white, the river becomes a calm, bright band across the image.

A road bridge crosses the river between the two cities, a single straight line tying together the urban areas of two different states.
Irrigated farmland
Around the city, irrigation canals and rectangular fields form a geometric pattern that contrasts with the dry sertão landscape beyond.
