Kakrāla is a town in Budaun district in western Uttar Pradesh, on the wide, flat plain of the Ganges basin. The countryside around it is intensively farmed, and villages are spread evenly across it. On a map, the town appears as a dense group of streets and buildings, with roads leading out toward other settlements in the district.
The older part of Kakrāla is closely built, with lanes that turn and narrow between houses. Around it, newer building extends along the main roads. The town serves as a local centre for markets, schools and services for the surrounding villages, and this is reflected in the way roads meet there.
