Kigumba is a town in Kiryandongo District in western Uganda. Its map is defined by a road junction. The main highway from Kampala toward Gulu passes through, and a road branches west toward Masindi. The town has grown along these roads, with shops and buildings lining them and residential lanes spreading out behind.
Towns like Kigumba grow from traffic. Buses, lorries and travellers stop at the junction, and markets and services follow. The surrounding land is farmland and savanna, with smaller roads and paths linking scattered homesteads to the town centre.
