Mälaren's western tip
A long inlet of Lake Mälaren reaches the town, forming its harbour. The water's tapering shape gives the print a clear focal point at one edge.

Köping Map Poster & Print
Köping is in Västmanland, at the western end of Lake Mälaren, where a long narrow bay reaches inland. On a map the town sits at the head of that water. The Köpingsån river runs down through the centre to the harbour, and the street grid is arranged on either side of it. Beyond, farmland and forest take over.
The town's position has shaped its economy. Being at the end of Mälaren made Köping a port, linking inland Västmanland to the lake's shipping routes and on to Stockholm. It also became an industrial town, with engineering and manufacturing concentrated around the harbour and rail line. The mix of docks, rail and residential streets is visible even at a small scale.
A Köping map poster frames the meeting of town and lake. The narrow inlet enters from one side, the river threads through the centre, and the regular blocks of a Swedish town fill the rest. It is a precise, understated plan that looks right in a clean black-and-white print.

Köpingsån river
The river flows through the centre to the lake. Streets and bridges are organised around it, dividing the town into balanced halves on the map.
Harbour and rail
Docks, industrial areas and railway lines gather near the water. Their larger, angular shapes contrast with the finer grid of residential streets.

ለምን Köping
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Köping is a hometown for many who now live in Västerås, Stockholm or further away. A map of the town at the end of the lake is an easy thing to hang in a hallway or study, familiar at a glance.
Customise the title and subtitle with a name, street or year, and keep or edit the coordinates. Choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir looks especially sharp with the lake.
