Kyarusozi lies in the Kyenjojo area of western Uganda, a region of rolling hills, fertile soils and small-scale farming, not far from the Rwenzori foothills and the Fort Portal area. The town is modest in size, with a centre of shops and services and houses spread along the roads leading into the surrounding countryside.
The map reflects that hilly landscape. Roads do not run straight for long, instead curving around slopes and following ridgelines, while footpaths and tracks connect scattered homesteads. Small streams and wetland patches in the valleys add fine lines between the hills.
