Lālsot is a town in Dausa district, in eastern Rajasthan south-east of Jaipur. It sits in open, semi-arid country where low hills and farmland meet. From above, its streets pack tightly around an older centre, then thin out along the roads that lead to neighbouring towns and villages.
Like many small towns in the region, Lālsot grew as a local market and administrative centre. The street pattern reflects this. Winding lanes in the core fit closely together, while straighter roads were added later along the edges. Beyond the built area, fields and tracks form a loose network across the plain.
