Lasarte, officially Lasarte-Oria, lies a few kilometres south of San Sebastián in Gipuzkoa. The Oria river runs through the town and gives the map its main curve. Streets follow the valley floor and climb the slopes on either side, where the Basque hills begin.
The San Sebastián racecourse is in Lasarte, and its oval track is one of the clearest shapes on the map. In the 1920s and 1930s, roads around the town were also used for motor racing on the Lasarte circuit. The town's name is still linked with early Spanish Grand Prix history.
