Lutz is an unincorporated community north of Tampa, stretching across parts of Hillsborough and Pasco counties. Its map is filled with lakes. Dozens of small, rounded bodies of water are scattered across the land, and roads and neighbourhoods curve around them, so the street network looks softer and less regular than much of suburban Florida.
US Highway 41 runs through the area from north to south and was once the main route through the community. Residential subdivisions sit between the lakes, many with their own looping streets and cul-de-sacs, while wetlands and wooded preserves add further irregular shapes.
Lutz is known for a local tradition: instead of a mayor, the community elects an honorary Guv'ner through a lighthearted annual contest. A Lutz map poster shows the setting behind that local identity, with lakes, curving roads and neighbourhoods tucked between the water.
