Macau Map Poster & Print
Macau is a town on the northern coast of Rio Grande do Norte in north-eastern Brazil, near the mouth of the Piranhas-Açu river. It is one of the country's main centres of sea-salt production. The wide flat land around the town is covered in salt pans, which is very unusual for a map: huge rectangular grids of evaporation ponds that look almost like a city plan.
The town itself is compact, with a simple network of streets on ground between the river channels and the coast. Around it the salt works, estuaries, sandbanks and the Atlantic shoreline form strong shapes, so the map looks very graphic in black and white. The region is also known for oil production and for its coastal dunes.
A Macau map poster is not to be confused with the Chinese city of the same name, and the coordinates line on the print makes the difference clear. It suits people from this part of the Brazilian coast who know its white salt fields and the smell of the sea.

River mouth
The Piranhas-Açu river reaches the Atlantic nearby, with branching channels and sandbanks. They draw soft curves among the straight lines of the salt works.
Compact town
A small, simple street network sits between the water and the salt pans. It is clearly visible as the settled centre of this working landscape.

ለምን Macau
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Macau's salt pans make a map that looks more like abstract art than a street plan, which makes it an unusual and striking piece for any wall. It is especially meaningful for people from the area.
Add a title, a subtitle such as "Rio Grande do Norte", and the coordinates to set it apart from the Chinese city. Choose from five styles, including Sand and Blueprint. HD files cost $9.
