Makak is a town in the Centre region of Cameroon, in the Nyong-et-Kéllé department west of Yaoundé. From above, the town appears as a modest cluster of streets set within dense vegetation and cultivated plots, the typical pattern of settlements in the forest belt of southern Cameroon.
The map shows only a few main roads, which cross the town and link it to surrounding villages and to the larger towns of the region. Streams and small rivers run through the rolling terrain, and the settlement stretches along its roads rather than forming a dense grid, leaving plenty of open space in the frame.
