Maltby Map Poster & Print
Maltby is a town in South Yorkshire, east of Rotherham, near the M18 motorway. On a map it appears as a mix of older streets around the historic village core and larger, regular estates added as the town expanded in the twentieth century. Fields and woodland lie close on several sides, so the built-up area has a defined, compact outline.
The town grew rapidly with Maltby Main Colliery, which opened in the early 1900s and was one of the last deep mines in the area when it closed in 2013. Just outside Maltby are the ruins of Roche Abbey, a Cistercian monastery set in a wooded valley later landscaped by Capability Brown.
A Maltby map poster shows the story of a mining town in its street pattern: the old village lanes, the planned colliery housing in neat rows and crescents, and the main roads leading away toward Rotherham and the motorway. In black and white, these layers of growth read with calm clarity.

Roche Abbey valley
To the south-east, the wooded valley holding the ruins of Roche Abbey breaks the pattern of fields with a narrow, winding line of green space.
Old village core
Around the historic centre, streets are shorter and less regular, marking where the original village stood before the colliery expanded the town.

ለምን Maltby
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Maltby holds deep loyalty among families shaped by the colliery years, and many who have moved away still think of it as home. A map poster is a simple, respectful way to keep those streets on the wall.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family name or a year, and choose from five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Printed posters come on matte paper, with an optional wooden frame.
