Settlement core
The built-up area forms a compact cluster of lanes, the densest part of the map. The land around it is drawn much more lightly.

Marāgheh Map Poster & Print
This Marāgheh lies in Razavi Khorasan Province in north-eastern Iran, in the countryside south of Mashhad. It shares its name with the much better-known city in East Azerbaijan, but it is an entirely different place, far to the east. Little is published about it, so the map itself is the most honest description of how it is laid out.
Settlements in this part of Khorasan usually sit among irrigated fields and orchards on a dry upland plateau, linked by rural roads and tracks. On a monochrome print the lanes of a small place like this appear as a close cluster. The field boundaries and paths around it spread outward in a lighter, more open pattern.
A Marāgheh map poster of this location suits someone with a direct connection: a family village, a place of birth or somewhere visited while travelling through the region. The map is drawn from open data, so it shows the place as it is recorded today, without embellishment.

Rural road links
Roads and tracks lead out towards neighbouring settlements. They form the main lines on the print and connect the place to the rest of the province.
Open upland
Beyond the settlement the frame opens into fields and dry ground typical of the Khorasan plateau. This gives the print generous empty space around its centre.

ለምን Marāgheh
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
A map of a small place carries weight precisely because it is rarely drawn. For families whose roots lie in the villages of Khorasan, a print like this keeps a specific corner of the country close, wherever they now live.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can be edited, so you can add a family name, a year or the province name. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and download the $9 HD files or order a printed poster.
