Marquette Map Poster & Print
Marquette lies on the south shore of Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. The lake takes up much of the map: a long stretch of shoreline with bays, rocky points and the rounded outline of Presque Isle Park. The city climbs inland from the water in a regular grid that bends where the ground rises towards the hills behind.
The city was built on iron. Ore from the Marquette Iron Range was shipped from its harbour, and the massive concrete ore docks are still some of the most recognisable shapes on the waterfront. Today Marquette is also home to Northern Michigan University, whose campus fills a large block on the north side of town.
A Marquette map poster is mostly water, shoreline and grid. The lake creates a large, calm field, while the harbours, breakwaters and the Presque Isle peninsula add fine detail at the edge. The result is a coastal print that works equally well in black and white or Blueprint.

Ore docks
Long, straight docks reach far out into the lake. They are a sharp industrial accent on the shoreline and a direct link to the city's mining past.
NMU campus
Northern Michigan University's campus takes up a broad area on the north side of the city, with larger buildings and open grounds breaking up the residential grid.
