Medvedovskaya is a large Cossack settlement, or stanitsa, in Krasnodar Krai in southern Russia. Like many villages in the Kuban, it is laid out on a broad, regular plan. Long, straight streets form wide blocks, and each block is divided into deep household plots with gardens behind the houses.
The surrounding land is the flat, fertile Kuban steppe, largely given over to fields of grain and sunflowers. A small steppe river and its ponds cross the area and add a few curving lines to an otherwise rectilinear map. Farm roads run out in straight lines toward the horizon.
