Road-led growth
Houses and streets gather along the main roads, so the settlement stretches in long branches, a pattern common to towns across lowland Sumatra.

Mendaha Map Poster & Print
Mendaha lies in Jambi province on the island of Sumatra, in the low, flat country shaped by the Batanghari River system. The region is one of wide rivers, wetlands and plantations, and settlements tend to follow the roads and waterways, stretching in long lines rather than forming compact, round centres.
On the map, the built-up area appears as a network of main roads with residential streets branching off them, surrounded by greener, less structured land. Water is never far away: streams, drainage channels and low-lying areas break up the pattern and give the edges of the town an irregular, organic outline.
A Mendaha map poster is a simple, faithful portrait of an ordinary Sumatran place. Without famous monuments to feature, the drawing focuses on how the settlement sits in its landscape, the lines of roads laid over flat, wet ground, and the slow transition from neighbourhood streets into the open country around them.

Waterways
Streams and channels thread through the area, belonging to the wider Batanghari basin, and add soft curving lines between the straighter roads.
Open margins
At the edges of town, streets give way to wide undeveloped land, leaving generous white space around the settlement and a calm, balanced composition.
