Oasis plots
Palm groves and small, walled gardens surround the town. They form a fine patchwork of irregular plots that frames the built-up area.

Métouia Map Poster & Print
Métouia lies in southern Tunisia, a short distance north-west of Gabès and close to the coast of the Gulf of Gabès. The landscape is one of the most distinctive in the Mediterranean, where coastal oases meet the sea. From above, the town is a compact group of low-rise streets with palm groves and cultivated plots around it.
The street pattern is irregular in the older parts, with narrow lanes and inward-facing courtyard houses, and more regular in newer districts. Main roads connect Métouia to Gabès and to the coastal route north. On a black-and-white print, the contrast between the dense town, the textured oasis plots and the open plain is clear and striking.
A Métouia map poster is a way for people from the town, including the many Tunisians living in France and elsewhere, to keep a precise picture of home. It shows the real layout of streets, groves and roads, simply and without decoration.

Older lane pattern
In the older quarters, narrow lanes twist between courtyard houses. This forms a tight, maze-like texture at the heart of the map.
Coastal plain roads
Main roads leave the town across the flat plain towards Gabès and the coast. Their straight lines contrast with the dense streets in the centre.

ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
For families from southern Tunisia, a map of Métouia is a simple, lasting reminder of home, especially for those living abroad. The mix of oasis and town creates an unusual and attractive pattern on a wall.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps in French or Arabic transliteration, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand works particularly well here. HD files cost $9, and printed posters are also available.
