Sandy tracks
Unpaved roads and footpaths cross the area in fine, winding lines, forming the main structure of the map and tracing the everyday routes between homes.

Micolene Map Poster & Print
Micolene lies in the south of Nampula province in northern Mozambique, in the low country that runs toward the Indian Ocean coast. It is a place of modest scale, and from above it appears less as a dense town than as a spread of houses, yards and small plots connected by sandy tracks, with a few wider roads carrying traffic through the area.
The pattern on the map is loose and organic. Paths follow the easiest line between homesteads, fields and water points, curving around trees and plots rather than meeting at right angles. Cashew trees and food crops such as cassava are common across this part of Mozambique, and the farmland around the settlement shows through as open space between the lines.
A Micolene map poster is a personal object more than a travel souvenir. It is meant for people who were born here, who have family in the district or who spent time working in the area, and who want to see its paths and clearings drawn clearly. Because detail is sparse, a moderately close frame usually gives the most balanced print.

Scattered settlement
Houses and yards are spread across the land rather than packed into blocks, giving the poster an open, airy texture with plenty of calm blank space.
Through roads
A few wider roads carry traffic across the district, standing out as bolder lines that anchor the composition and connect the place to the wider province.
