The Klausen gorge
The Mödlingbach cuts a narrow passage through the hills west of the centre. On the map the valley road and stream squeeze into a tight, winding channel.

Mödling Map Poster & Print
Mödling sits just south of Vienna, at the point where the forested hills of the Wienerwald come down to the Vienna Basin. The Mödlingbach stream leaves the hills through a narrow gorge called the Klausen and runs straight through the town. That meeting of forest and plain is clear on any map, with the street pattern thick on the east side and fading out to the west.
The historic centre is small and irregular, a knot of lanes around the main square and the parish church on its rise. The railway and newer districts spread across the flatter ground to the east. Beethoven spent several summers here in the early 1820s and worked on the Missa solemnis during his stays.
A Mödling map poster shows the town's edge in sharp outline: winding paths in the woods to the west, a compact old core in the middle, and a more regular pattern of streets and tracks towards the plain.

Old town knot
The historic centre forms an irregular cluster of lanes around the main square, clearly different from the straighter streets laid out later on the plain.
Wienerwald trails
West of town, footpaths wind through the forested hills and add a fine, loose web of lines that contrasts with the built-up blocks.

ለምን Mödling
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Mödling suits people who like a place with two characters. Commuters to Vienna, walkers who know the trails above the town and anyone who has lived near the square will recognise both the streets and the forest edge.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line can all be changed, so the print can mark a move, a wedding or a favourite walk. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand.
