Nagari lies in the far south of Andhra Pradesh, very close to the border with Tamil Nadu. The town sits on relatively flat ground, with rocky hills rising in the surrounding countryside. From above, its centre is a tight cluster of narrow lanes and small blocks, with main roads leading out toward neighbouring towns on both sides of the state line.
A railway line passes through Nagari, and its straight alignment cuts cleanly through the more irregular street fabric.
