Oil township layout
Company housing is laid out in orderly rows and blocks. It sits next to the more organic market area, which gives the map two distinct textures.

Nahorkatiya Map Poster & Print
Nahorkatiya is a town in Dibrugarh district in Upper Assam. It is closely connected with oil: a major oil discovery was made in this area in the early 1950s, and oil installations, pipelines and company housing have shaped the town since then.
On a map, Nahorkatiya is less a single grid than a group of clusters. There is a market area, organised company residential areas, and roads leading out to the oil fields and tea estates. The tea gardens form large blocks with a few internal roads, which leave wide calm spaces between settlements.
Rivers and streams from the nearby hills flow across the plain and add winding lines to the edges of the map. A Nahorkatiya map poster shows this mix of industry and agriculture: orderly housing, working roads and large tea estates. People who grew up in the oil towns of Upper Assam will recognise that pattern immediately.

Tea garden blocks
Large tea estates cover much of the land around the town. On the poster they appear as wide open areas with only a few estate roads.
Plain and streams
Winding waterways cross the flat plain. They draw soft lines along the edges of the map, framing the settlement.

ለምን Nahorkatiya
ትርጉም ያለው ካርታ
Nahorkatiya is a thoughtful gift for families connected to Assam's oil industry and for anyone who grew up between the township and the tea gardens. It shows a place that is not often mapped with care.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line with a family name, a year or a posting. There are five styles: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Paper matches the calm of the tea country.
