Nāspur lies in Mancherial district in the north of Telangana, adjoining the town of Mancherial. On a map the two form an almost continuous built-up area, with residential neighbourhoods spreading across gently undulating land. The Godavari River flows to the south of this area, a wide, braided channel that is one of the dominant features of the region.
This part of Telangana is a coal belt, and mining by the Singareni Collieries Company has shaped the local economy and landscape. Workers' colonies with regular streets stand out on the map beside older, more irregular settlements, and mine areas and transport routes add large, distinctive shapes to the surrounding land.
