Nueva Granada Map Poster & Print
Nueva Granada is a municipality in the Magdalena Department of northern Colombia, in the flat interior plains between the Magdalena River and the Caribbean coast. From above, the town is a neat, compact grid of blocks around a central plaza. This layout is found in towns throughout the Colombian lowlands, and here it is lined mostly with low houses.
The town shares its name with the New Kingdom of Granada, the colonial territory that came before modern Colombia. Most of the surrounding land is used for cattle ranching and farming. The landscape is broad and open, crossed by country roads and creeks, and marked by low ground that fills and drains with the rainy and dry seasons.
A Nueva Granada map poster presents a small town with great clarity: a regular grid of streets, a few roads leading out toward neighbouring municipalities and wide open land around it. That simplicity is the point. It shows a place at human scale, where the plaza and a handful of blocks hold most of town life.

Regular grid
Straight streets crossing at right angles form a tidy pattern of blocks, which fades gradually into looser lots and footpaths at the edges.
Open plains
Beyond the town, flat pasture and farmland stretch in every direction, crossed by country roads and small streams drawn as fine lines.
